UNC basketball recruiting roundup: Woods, Blakeney, Thomas, Stone, Late Night

Here are a few UNC basketball recruiting notes from the past week:

Friday night was North Carolina's annual "Late Night with Roy" season tipoff event, and as usual the Tar Heels hosted several recruits. Here's the list:

, 2014 small forward, UNC commit
, 2014 small forward, UNC commit
, 2014 point guard, UNC commit
, 2015 small forward
, 2016 power forward
, 2017 shooting guard

, a 2016 point guard from Columbia, South Carolina, received a scholarship offer from . He is the third member of UNC's 2016 basketball recruiting class to receive an offer.

2015 shooting guard is receiving heavy interest from North Carolina.

2015 center wrote a blog entry in which he explains why he had to trim his extensive school list down to a more manageable 24. UNC made the cut although Thomas has yet to receive an offer from the Tar Heels.

2017 shooting guard , the nephew of former UNC and current Knicks star , not only attended Late Night with Roy, he was also recently named the top freshman at the Jim Couch Showcase in New York City.

UNC remains in the running for 2015 center . Stone holds an offer from UNC and says that loves his game.

has a new highlight video online that contains a nice mix of his Summer highlights. The 2015 power forward also has a scholarship offer from UNC.

This isn't recruiting-related, but apparently this year's "Secret Scrimmage" against Vanderbilt didn't go too well for the Tar Heels, according to recruiting analyst Jeff Goodman of ESPN: "Keep hearing that Vandy took it to UNC in "secret scrimmage", but no Hairston, McDonald or Tokoto. McAdoo looked lackluster -- per source."

Former UNC Recruits in the News:

(2014 SG) visited Indiana over the weekend.

(2014 SG) visited Missouri this weekend for the second weekend in a row.
