UNC, Duke golfers aim to make mark in the U.S. Women's Open
Posted Jun 28, 2007
Former UNC golfer Ashley Prange beat Kristina Tucker to win "Big break," and she'll make her U.S. Women's Open debut today as one of three former Tar Heels in the field. LPGA Tour rookie Meaghan Francella won the MasterCard Classic earlier this year on the fourth hole of a playoff against Annika Sorenstam, and Marcy Hart is a Tour veteran from Thomasville. But anyone looking for a Duke-Carolina rivalry akin to the one that always looms over basketball season will be sorely disappointed.
