Trent Thornton allowed just one run in 6.2 innings and Chris McCue worked the final two innings for his second save of the year as No. 12 North Carolina beat Xavier, 2-1, Saturday afternoon at Boshamer Stadium. Zach Daly had two hits and scored the eventual run on a steal of home as the Tar Heels evened the series (GoHeels.com)
