Patchwork pitching propels UNC past N.C. State
Posted May 20, 2014
Instead of working with a blank slate, Trent Thornton, UNC's Friday night ace, came out of the bullpen in the top of the eighth inning to seal seventh-seeded UNC's 4-3 win against 10th-seeded N.C. State (32-23) in Tuesday afternoon's ACC Tournament play-in game. "That was what I wanted," said Thornton of closing the game.
