Tar Heels continue winning ways with young talent

Baseball is a sport built on statistics and mythical anecdotes. Put the two together in a ballplayer, and you have a legendary figure in the making. North Carolina freshman Dustin Ackley has compiled some impressive statistics, such as a team-leading .441 batting average (No. 3 in the nation), 59 RBIs and a .656 slugging percentage. He also ranks among the most difficult batters to strike out. And last month, the Walnut Cove, N.C., native came up with the kind of swing that one day may have baseball fans saying, "Hey, remember when Ackley …"
