Sophomore Tim Federowicz hit one of three home runs for No. 4 North Carolina and struck out a career-high six batters in 2 1/3 innings in a 5-1 win over No. 30 East Carolina Wednesday at Clark-LeClair Stadium. The Tar Heels (39-10) swept the two-game season series from the Pirates (32-17) and have won the last seven meetings.
