Ty Lawson's trey the dagger
Posted Mar 18, 2007
Marcus Ginyard got the steal, Brandan Wright made the assist and Ty Lawson hit the 3-pointer. Even though the game wasn't over, the Tar Heels knew it was pretty much a wrap. The trio's effort with 4:52 left in North Carolina's 81-67 second-round NCAA Tournament victory over Michigan State on Saturday night gave the Tar Heels the momentum, a six-point lead (67-61) and delivered a blow that the Spartans couldn't shake off.
