Posted Mar 15, 2015
Eric Hess singled home Ron Sherman in the bottom of the 10th to give Pitt a 3-2 win over No. 11 North Carolina Sunday at Cost Field. UNC rallied to tie it in the ninth but Hess' single to right center won it for the Panthers, who improved to 8-9 and 3-3 in the ACC. The Tar Heels fell to 12-7 and 3-3 in the league despite a good start from Trent Thornton and two hits apiece from Brian Miller and Elijah Sutherland.
