Heels hold lead in series

When N.C. State meets UNC at 1 p.m. today in the ACC championship game, the meeting will be a rarity. The Wolfpack and Tar Heels have met in the league's championship game only five times. The last time the two squads faced off for the ACC title was in 1997, when the third-seeded Tar Heels beat the Wolfpack 64-54. The eighth-seeded Wolfpack made its way to the title game from the play-in contest that season.
