Dustin Ackley fills in well at second base

Dustin Ackley’s infield glove is still sitting in his locker, even though, prior to this week, he hadn’t played there in a competitive game in more than a year. “I still keep it loosened up,” Ackley said, “and make sure it doesn’t go bad.” The converted outfielder has kept his skills sharp, too, taking daily ground balls just in case. On Thursday, Ackley’s diligence paid off.
