Freshman first baseman Dustin Ackley went 3-for-4 in his first career three-RBI game, and sophomore right-hander Luke Putkonen struck out seven batters over 5 2/3 innings, as No. 1 North Carolina bounced back from its first loss with a 5-4 win over Penn State Sunday at Boshamer Stadium.
