The fire marshal in Durham has granted Duke permission to allow bonfires on campus tonight in the event the Blue Devils beat North Carolina. The declaration was nothing more than a formality, of course. It was a deference to tradition with full knowledge that, given the current state of the two rivals, there’s little or no chance of anything getting torched this time around.
