All season long, Bruce Carter pined for a start. In the end, Sunday’s finish was devastating. Signed as a free agent from Dallas in March, Carter opened at middle linebacker Sunday as rookie Kwon Alexander began serving a four-game suspension for violating the NFL’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs.
