Illinois' front seven, particularly the defensive line, is loaded with athletic upperclassmen who are adept at stopping the run. UNC's opportunities will likely come against an older yet inexperienced secondary that favors man coverage. With a mindset to force turnovers, the Illini defense may render itself vulnerable against a UNC receiving corps that will look to give Mitch Trubisky open targets.
