After father’s murder, Heat’s Wayne Ellington a messenger for peace

At 28, Wayne Ellington has made more than $12 million in his NBA career because he’s been pretty good at making long distance shots. But Ellington wants to be more than a basketball player these days. He wants to be a messenger of the NBA’s growing voice to end gun violence. “It will be two years in November,” Ellington said Monday of his father’s murder.
