Heels try to get up to speed


After an embarrassing defeat at Clemson, coach hopes his open-date practice strategy can work wonders for North Carolina again. Bunting scrimmaged the Tar Heels in full pads Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday last week. Conventional coaching wisdom discourages full-speed, full-contact practices during the season for fear of injury, but North Carolina might need unconventional tactics to improve after the 52-7 rout at Clemson.
