Scoring Barrage Lifts Carolina Men's Soccer Over Providence


A pair of goals in each half lifted No. 4 North Carolina to a thrilling 4-2 victory over 12th-ranked Providence on Friday in the season opener for both teams from Rudd Field. Carolina (1-0) struck first in the 15th minute with John Nelson scoring on his first career shot with the Tar Heels. Cam Lindley made it 2-0 Tar Heels in the 33rd minute.
