The coach we love to hate but have to root for now
Posted Aug 23, 2006
USA Basketball has put us -- we, the people -- in a difficult position: We're forced to root for Mike Krzyzewski. Aren't we? Sure we are ... right? Krzyzewski, who in his day job wears the black hat of Duke, is coaching the U.S. team for the next two years of international competition. The most important component of his tour of duty will be the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, but the 2006 World Championship in Japan is his first must-win event. So we must root for Coach K. Mustn't we? This is a tough one.
