Coaches feel heat in ACC
Posted Jul 8, 2006
John Bunting doesn't need eight wins, but six or seven and a bowl appearance would be enough to buy him breathing room. He'll begin the season 16-24 against the league and 24-36 overall. Bunting hasn't had a winning overall finish since going 8-5 in his first season, 2001. For the second straight season, the Tar Heels will be breaking in a new quarterback, and there'll be a new offensive coordinator in Frank Cignetti. With Furman, Rutgers and South Florida visiting, the non-league schedule finally gets lighter. The November trip to Notre Dame should be memorable but probably not successful on the field.
