The weather washed away part of 's chance to shine, but it didn't dampen the North Carolina baseball team's victory hopes at the College World Series. First baseman tripled to lead off the eighth inning and scored on a passed ball one pitch later for the deciding run as UNC defeated Oregon State 4-3 in Game 1 of the CWS championship series at Rosenblatt Stadium.
