UNC Wrestler Cade Lautt Qualifies For US National Team And U23 World Team

UNC wrestler Cade Lautt took part in the Senior World Team Trials Challenge on Saturday, finishing runner-up in the 97 KG Greco Roman division. For his effort, Lautt earned a spot on the U.S. National Team and U23 World Team, to represent the U.S. and the Tar Heels in Finland, Oct. 23-29. North Carolina wrestler Cade Lautt heads west this weekend to Colorado, representing the Tar Heel Wrestling Club at the 2023 Senior World Team Trials Challenge on Saturday. Lachlan McNeil Named To Amateur Wrestling News All-Rookie Team

North Carolina wrestling 141-pounder Lachlan McNeil was named to the Amateur Wrestling News All-Rookie Team on Tuesday. A redshirt freshman, McNeil won 27 matches last season for the Tar Heels, which included 10 major decisions, four falls, and three technical falls. Two national champions — wrestler Austin O’Connor and diver — earned Athlete of the Year honors at the Rammy Awards on Monday at Memorial Hall. Two UNC Wrestlers Win Titles At National Freestyle Open

Blah Dahnweih and Sonny Santiago secured titles in their respective weight classes, at the National Freestyle Open on Sunday. All seven wrestlers who made the trek to New Jersey placed in their divisions. North Carolina wrestlers Lachlan McNeil and Austin O'Connor collected Scholar All-America recognition Friday, the National Wrestling Coaches Association announced. UNC Ranked Sixth Nationally In Directors' Cup Standings Following Winter Sports Championships

UNC leads the ACC and ranks sixth in the nation in the 2022-23 Learfield Directors' Cup standings after the conclusion of winter sports. Eight Tar Heel teams added 341.00 points in the winter to the 382.50 points, which led all schools, from the fall. The women's swimming and diving team placed 10th. Kizhan Clarke To Compete In European Wrestling Championships

Former UNC Wrestling All-American Kizhan Clarke heads to Croatia this week, to represent Germany in the 2023 European Wrestling Championships. In the opening round, Clarke will face Colin John Realbuto of Italy on Monday.
