Nov. 11, 1999, UNC 10, N.C. State 6: Played in Charlotte at Bank of America Stadium, N.C. State failed to convert a fourth-and-goal play from the UNC 4-yard line with 1:43 left. The setback, combined with a loss the next week against ECU, wound up costing Wolfpack coach Mike O’Cain his job. O’Cain was 0-7 against the Tar Heels during his tenure.
