UNC’s Ethan Strand runs down 1,500 meters finals berth at Olympic trials

Amid a field of professional runners, UNC’s Ethan Strand advanced to the men’s 1,500-meters finals at the U.S. Olympic track and field trials in Eugene, Ore. He needed to finish in the top five in his Saturday heat and surged to finish third in 3 minutes, 38.08 seconds to become one of five college runners to make Monday’s final at 8:47 p.m. ET on NBC.
