Tar Heels returner T.J. Thorpe off to fast start
Posted Sep 15, 2011
When T.J. Thorpe lined up to return his first kick as a 4-year-old, his dad told him to run to the sideline toward a red cup his mom was holding. Fourteen years later, the UNC freshman is aiming a little farther downfield. "All the way to the end zone," he said, grinning. Judging by the 6-foot, 180-pound wide receiver's 59-yard kickoff return against Rutgers last weekend, it's not an unrealistic goal.
