Legendary UNC Women's Soccer Coach Anson Dorrance 'Modeled' Retirement Decision After Dean Smith


paid the ultimate compliment in the summer of 1997, stating that UNC was a "women's soccer school" when reporters asked whether basketball or football was king on campus. Dorrance's Tar Heels had won 10 of the previous 11 national women's soccer titles and would make it 11 out of 12 in the fall after Smith's comments. (Inside Carolina)
