The 15 teams which registered perfect 1000s for 2017-18 in UNC’s single-year Academic Progress Rate include women’s cross country, men’s and women’s fencing, men’s and women’s golf, gymnastics, men’s lacrosse, men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s swimming and diving, women’s tennis, women’s indoor and outdoor track and field, and wrestling. Matt Jednak named second UNC fencing head coach in program history

Matt Jednak, a former Tar Heel fencer and assistant coach, has been named head coach of the North Carolina men's and women's fencing teams, UNC Director of Athletics Bubba Cunningham announced Thursday. Jednak is just the second coach in Tar Heel program history, following Ron Miller, who came to UNC in 1967 and has been at UNC's helm for 52 years. (GoHeels.com)

Ron Miller To Remain At Helm Of UNC Fencing While Coaching Search Continues

Veteran coach Ron Miller will delay his retirement and remain at the helm of the UNC men's and women's fencing teams, UNC Director of Athletics Bubba Cunningham announced recently. This season will be Miller's 52nd at Carolina, and he is the only head coach the Tar Heel fencing program has ever known. Miller had announced plans to retire effective Aug. 31, 2018. (GoHeels.com)
